Resusci Torso Manikin
4 FEBRUARY 2025
York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity recently funded a state-of-the-art half-torso manikin to support training for healthcare professionals.
Beth Hayne ,Resuscitation Officer, explained ‘The half-torso manikins have proven to be a significant asset to our training programmes. These manikins are versatile, supporting a wide range of life support courses from basic to advanced life support. With features like airway management and CPR functionality (including CPR feedback via an app), they provide realistic and hands-on training for our staff. The portability of the manikins is another major advantage, allowing us to take training beyond the classroom to multiple sites, including GP surgeries, community hospitals like Selby and Malton, and even directly to hospital wards and departments. This flexibility enables us to deliver targeted training to large groups at once. By bringing the training to the staff in their work environments, we can also tailor sessions to the specific needs of different departments, ensuring that the training is both relevant and effective’.
