Picnic bench for Chemotherapy staff

York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity has recently funded a vital addition to the Chemotherapy Unit at Scarborough Hospital: a picnic bench with a roof.
The new picnic bench, situated in a quiet outdoor space, provides staff with a much-needed area to relax during their breaks. Working in the Chemotherapy Unit often involves dealing with emotionally challenging situations, and having a designated place to unwind is essential for maintaining mental health and wellbeing.
The picnic bench offers more than just a physical resting space. It creates an environment where staff can momentarily step away from the demands of their roles, enjoy some fresh air, and take time to reflect. For staff members experiencing particularly tough days, this space serves as a sanctuary to process their emotions in a calm and peaceful setting.
