Local family show support for York Hospital Maxillofacial Unit

5 AUGUST 2024

Lisa and Simon, owners of LSK Catering in Malton, are spearheading a series of fundraising events to support the Maxillofacial Unit at York Hospital, where Lisa’s father, Porky, received outstanding care following his oral cancer diagnosis in February 2024. Porky, a well-known business owner in Malton, is now cancer-free thanks to the exceptional efforts of the surgical team in the Maxillofacial department.

To show their gratitude and give back to the unit that played a crucial role in Porky’s recovery, Lisa, Simon, and their five children have organised bucket collections during Auto Grass and banger racing events this summer.

Their fundraising efforts continue with the family organising two events in August:

A biker charity meet-up on 18 August at Calverts Carpets Yard, Malton. Bikers and community members are invited to enjoy some delicious food and show their support.

A charity bingo night on 23 August at the bowling club on Scarborough Road. A fun-filled bingo night with fantastic prizes donated by local businesses.

Lisa explained "We are incredibly grateful for the care my dad received at York Hospital's Maxillofacial Unit. These events are our way of saying thank you and supporting the team that gave us so much hope and help during a challenging time."
