Golf club raises over £3,600 for Magnolia Centre
14 MAY 2024
Kirkbymoorside Golf Club have raised a fantastic £3,628.65 for York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity, to benefit the Magnolia Centre at York Hospital.
Sheila Riby and Carolyn Strickland, joint ladies’ captains at the club, decided to support York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity as their charity of the year. Robin Cass, men’s captain, joined forces with them by choosing to raise funds for the same cause. This meant the whole club came together to support the charity and raise funds for the Magnolia Centre.
Several events and collections were held throughout the year and money was also collected at the charity bunker on the course.
After recently concluding their year of captaincy, Sheila and Carolyn presented the final cheque on behalf of the club to Emma Sargent, Community Fundraiser at York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity.
Emma said: ‘We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Kirkbymoorside Golf Club for their generous support of York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity. We would like to say a special thank you to Sheila, Carolyn and Robin for all their work in coordinating the fundraising efforts. The wonderful amount raised will make a real difference to patients and families spending time in the Magnolia Centre.’
